Not one single thing...
What? Except for the construction work and fires all round? Having no restaurant and filthy beach?
Kind and helpful owner
Music playing all night in a bar next door so did not get any sleep.
In a delightful situation five minutes walk from the magnificent Long Beach, the staff were friendly and obliging.
The staff was very helpful, and fun. The room was great value for the money. A/C worked well and the bathroom was very nice. Bed was quite comfortable as well. Gardens were nice. The adjacent bar was really nice and a great place to chill with great bar staff.
The room only had one electrical outlet and it was used by the TV and refrigerator. No extra outlets available for charging cameras, laptops, etc.. The location was farther from the beach than what we expected. the food was just average. A small broom on the balcony would have been helpful to avoid sand tracking into the room. The adjacent bar had no red wine.
We liked the natural surroundings, services (e.g. motorbike rent) and nice location.
Loud music could be heard during the night from the direction of the beach.
The beach was the only nice thing about this place.
I would never recommend this resort, it in fact nearly ruined our holiday. The room themselves are not that bad, but the noise levels during the night are ridiculous, and when we explained that the loud music that is played until 4 am every night was terrible and we could not sleep management was very rude to us and told us he did not care and that if we tried to leave, he would charge us the full price for our reservation. I even offered to pay an extra night to please let us leave this place but he said no, you should have booked 5 star if you do not like it. We could not afford to leave and he was very rude to us. We had no problems with Michael the owner he was very pleasant, but the man at reception was not. The actual beach is nice, but I would not recommend this resort and we have been to Thailand 5 times and never had any issues in the past.
Bit expensive compared to ther places but lcation and hotel you cannot beat
The staff were really friendly and accomodating.
Music from nearby bar could be a problem for light sleepers. Not a problem for me as I like going to sleep to the sound of music.
Hammock for sleeping on the veranda at 4am after waking up from a cockroach walking over you leg in your bed!
Do not BOOK!!this is not a resort! This is a crappy cheapass budget place. Our bungalow (basic with fan) looked fine at the first site, but when we checked in we found out it had a lot of holes in the hut, electricity was just hanging outside the hut, it smelled, dirty, poison for insects all over the floor. Bathroom is basic, no pressure on the water. If you have long hair its takes about 1 hour to wash it. The bungalows fall litairly apart. We booked 2 nights here. I wanted to leave after the first night, cause we spotted cockraoches on the floor and in the bathroom. They dont clean your room, the 2nd day the bungalow even smelled worse. The 2nd night we had a cockroach in our bed, so discusting! We even think there is a whole cockroach family living in the bed, cause we tucked the moscitonet under the matress. Brings me to a point that the beds are so old the springs are just to pop out. The staff is really cocky. Music is playing everyday from the main road till 3 am and you will hear that in your hut.stay at nature beach resort instead for almost the same money (these recruite on the ferries as well), staff is very friendly, they do have airport pick up end is located at a nicer part of ko lanta ( klong nin) where they do have restaurants and shops, 7/11 and is not in the middle of nowhere.
Friendly staff, everything you need is on site, good restaurant and bar, wifi etc. Nice chilled out atmosphere around the place. The air con room is lovely, has a TV and fridge too which is nice. Setting is lovely too, lots of trees and 'naturey' sounds. Spending 5 days here was nice.
The fan room is basic enough, especially the bathroom, although the big mosquitto net provided in the room is nice. Go for the air con room if possible. There is no village nearby as such around, just lots of beach bars, so its quiet and chilled out. Not the centre of a town if thats what you're looking for, although a short taxi ride gets you into the hustle and bustle if you want that.
They make a good papaya salad.
The beach near the hotel is unattractive and crowded. It's also situated above a creek so there are more bugs than at other places I have stayed. Also I rented two different scooters and they both had problems. The first one's motor turned off when I slowed down to turn or park. The second one had so little gas it died on the road no less than two blocks from the hotel. I had to push it to get gas.
Hammocks and porch were nice. Pleasant, but shabby compound. Nice enough patio/lobby. We didn't make it to the "famous" bar as we were scouting alternatives and left after one night. We booked three nights, and even after we expressed our disappointment, they insisted we pay for all three. "We held these for you, we lose money, etc." We paid. I returned to look for a misplaced item the next day, and they had rented one of our rooms. I commented to the proprietor, and he jerked his head. I said, "lucky for you," and left. Probably ok if you are on a budget and your expectations aren't too high. Not a good use of time for our vacation. We spent 2.5X as much per night down the beach, but were much happier.
We were underwhelmed. "Bait and switch" from the website pictures. I revisited the website, and they really don't represent what we were offered. They may sell the reservation, but it doesn't set realistic expectations. Unless we got the "bastard child" rooms of the place. The bathrooms were pretty funky- concrete walls, musty smell and some toilet odor.
Such a lovely, welcoming little place. The bungalows are comfortable, yet basic. But the staff, food, and whole atmosphere of it makes it a brilliant stay. The location is perfect, just a very short stroll to the beach. Try the food, particularly the 'hot pan' and papaya salad. They're fantastic!
I thought the staff and owner went out of their way to see to all our comforts
The location is very nice, next to the beach. The resort staff is really friendly.
We stayed in a bungalow with fan. Didn't expect any luxury but we were not that happy about finding frogs, salamanders and a lizard in the bathroom and bungalow. Other accomodations seemed to be just fine.
